Starbucks in Ranelagh
Posted Saturday, May 17, 2008According to the Irish Independent, there's going to be a branch of Starbucks opening in Ranelagh. They're looking to expand to a London level, where you're never more than 10 minutes from a branch. If they start to use the late opening times that they have in the UK and the US, I can see this being a roaring success for them.

Ill judged comments, Starbucks are not suited to Irish society, they are aggressive and have been shown to be out of step with market trends in Ireland consistently. You would not lease a bar for the terms that they have secured the Ranelagh branch, hence its gone out of business. There coffee appeals to silly Irish people who think they are americanised after a couple of months in the states on a J1 visa, lets keep business homegrown, more organic and individual, Gummels makes a better coffee at half the price!
